PiggyBank

Privacy policy

Updated 20 October 2026 · PiggyBank 1.0 for Chrome

PiggyBank has no servers and no accounts. Your keys and your data stay in your browser. We don’t collect, sell or share any of it.

What stays on your device

  • Your recovery phrase and private key. They are encrypted with your password (PBKDF2-SHA256 with 600,000 iterations, then AES-256-GCM) and kept in the extension’s storage. They never leave your device, and nobody, including us, can see or recover them.
  • While the wallet is unlocked, the key is held only in the browser’s memory, which is cleared when the browser closes. By default the wallet locks itself after 15 minutes of inactivity.
  • Goals, history and settings are stored locally in your browser too.

What goes over the network, and why

PiggyBank connects directly to public services, and only to do what you asked:

  • Solana network nodes (publicnode.com, solanavibestation.com, solana.com, tatum.io, pocket.network, or a node you add yourself) receive your public wallet address, to show balances and history, and the transactions you sign, to send them to the network.
  • Jupiter (jup.ag) receives the tokens and amount you want to swap, and your public address to prepare the swap.
  • CoinGecko, Coinbase and Jupiter are asked for the current SOL price. These requests contain nothing about you.

Like any website, these services see the request itself, including your IP address, and handle it under their own privacy policies. The Solana blockchain is public by design: anyone can look up an address’s balance and transfers.

What we don’t do

  • No analytics, trackers, ads or cookies.
  • No sign-up, email or other personal data.
  • We don’t sell or pass on user data, and don’t use it for anything other than the wallet working.
  • No remote code: everything the extension runs ships inside it.

Why the extension asks for its permissions

  • Storage keeps the encrypted wallet, goals and settings.
  • Alarms run the auto-lock, the check for incoming money and saving reminders.
  • Notifications tell you that money arrived or a reminder is due.
  • Clipboard read is used only when you press the Paste button next to an address or a node link.
  • Access to the Solana nodes and Jupiter lets the extension read balances and send your transactions.
  • Network request rules remove the Origin header from requests to Solana’s own nodes, which otherwise refuse requests from extensions.

You’re in control

  • “Remove wallet” in Settings deletes the wallet, goals and history from the browser. Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored.
  • Keep your recovery phrase safe: it is the only way to restore the wallet, and we can’t restore it for you.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date. Questions can be sent through the support link on the extension’s Chrome Web Store page.
